Siemens predicts 15% annual business growth in Saudi Arabia: Official

Siemens’ relationship with the Kingdom dates back to 1928 through milestone projects like the Hejaz Railway and Saudi Arabia's first-ever telephone services

Siemens expects annual growth in its Saudi Arabia-based operations to exceed 15%, driven by ongoing industrial and infrastructure expansion in the Kingdom as well as preparations for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, said Fawaz Al-Shammari, the company’s senior vice-president and head of the digital industries sector.

Speaking to the business daily Al-Eqtisadiah on the sidelines of the “Industrial Transformation Exhibition” in Riyadh, Al-Shammari said his company is strengthening its presence in the Gulf nation through operational expansion and accelerated technology adoption, capitalising on the country’s economic momentum and its shift toward advanced technologies and artificial intelligence (AI), under the “Vision 2030” diversification agenda.

The official further noted that while Siemens is currently operating an advanced factory in Jeddah that produces a wide range of industrial products, production volumes continue to grow as the German multinational technology conglomerate’s Saudi division introduces new products, in line with the Kingdom’s drive to boost local content under Vision 2030.

Al-Shammari informed Al-Eqtisadiah that Siemens was among the first to introduce edge computing technologies in the region, enhancing factory efficiency and supporting industrial transformation. He also highlighted the company’s role in the electric vehicle sector, where its solutions support automakers such as the Saudi company Ceer in building their production capabilities and strengthening readiness for future technologies.

Siemens is also implementing major projects in the Saudi market, including a recent partnership with energy giant Aramco to develop a state-of-the-art 3D-printing facility in collaboration with the American tech conglomerate IBM.

The German venture’s investments in the Kingdom have now exceeded several billion riyals across the industrial, energy, infrastructure and transport sectors. The company’s plans for 2026 include significant expansions, the launch of new production lines, industrial cybersecurity and sustainability solutions.

Siemens Saudi Arabia recently signed a comprehensive agreement with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources under the “Future Industries Programmes,” covering the introduction of advanced manufacturing technologies, factory-readiness assessments, and training for ministry staff and workers in national factories to enhance competitiveness, while supporting sustainable industrial transformation.

Siemens’ relationship with the Kingdom dates back to 1928 through milestone projects like the Hejaz Railway and Saudi Arabia’s first-ever telephone services. Since then, the company has steadily expanded its operational presence across the oil, gas, water, food and electricity sectors. The Gulf major is right now serving as a key hub for Siemens’ Middle Eastern digital-industry operations.
