China, UAE media collaboration: All you need to know

The officials from China and UAE talked about how to improve communication between media organisations in both countries

ZHU Yonglei, Vice Minister of the National Radio and Television Administration of the People’s Republic of China (NRTA), and Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office (NMO) and Chairman of the UAE Media Council, recently spoke about ways to improve collaboration mechanisms and exchange knowledge in various media domains.

Sheikh Abdulla stated his desire to improve media cooperation and coordination between the two nations in a way that honours their expanding relationship during Yonglei and his delegation’s visit to the NMO’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

“This relationship, characterised by diversity and depth, is driven by a strong political will reflected in mutual visits between the leadership of the two countries and their commitment to deepening relations, cooperation, coordination, and the exchange of visions,” Abdulla stated further.

The objective of the two nations’ comprehensive strategic partnership is to foster prosperity and sustainable development, and this meeting falls under its purview.

Sheikh Abdulla welcomed the current media collaboration between the two nations and stated that he was eager to see it grow even more for the benefit of both.

The two parties talked about collaborating in the media industry’s use of artificial intelligence (AI) and staying abreast of developments in the field as well as worldwide shifts.

Their shared goal to create a unique model of collaboration and media partnership that would enhance the media environments in both nations was reaffirmed.

The two officials talked about how to improve communication between media organisations in both countries, how to develop cooperative media projects and initiatives, and how to explore new opportunities to elevate the media industry in both countries by leveraging their leadership and the strong strategic relations between the UAE and China. They also discussed how to exchange experiences and expertise in various media fields.

Both sides emphasised the significance of strengthening partnerships between media institutions in both countries to support their shared media goals and enhance cooperation between each country’s media landscape during the meeting, which was attended by Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary-General of the UAE Media Council, and Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Director-General of the NMO.
