Claude opens storefront as new marketplace launches for AI tools

Companies that have built products using the Claude model family can register interest

Dario Amodei-led Anthropic has launched a Claude marketplace that’s going to serve as an online store where companies can buy other AI and cloud-based software tools that synchronise with Claude.

The funds that these businesses have already spent on Anthropic can be used to pay for these third-party tools, so one does not need a separate budget or approvals for each product.

If a company has unused Anthropic credits lying around, they can be channelled towards the marketplace so no AI time goes idle or is wasted. The marketplace is reportedly in beta mode now, while featuring several partners, including Snowflake, GitLab, Harvey AI, Rogo, Replit and Lovable Labs.

Partners are chosen by invitation. They have to apply via a partner waitlist where Anthropic evaluates them based on how they build their Claude-powered tools and how viable they are for enterprises. Companies that have built products using the Claude model family can register interest. It is important to note that Anthropic prefers enterprise-level tools and is not focusing on consumer-only apps as of now.

The deal will be very beneficial to partners because they don’t have to handle invoicing or lengthy vendor onboarding and procurement cycles. This is because Anthropic already holds a master service agreement, thanks to the tech company’s thorough security and compliance vetting. Partners who get through can move faster towards sales conversations.

It is important to note that Anthropic doesn’t take a cut on each sale made. They aim to help companies manage their AI spending without monetising their stores.

The American company plans to feature datasets, AI agents, and other integrations on its marketplace so that it transforms into a central place for AI-related tools. A date for a full-scale launch has not been revealed yet, where these features and the marketplace will be open to all customers.
