Airspan, Padtec and Tropico sign MoU for Brazil’s 5G solutions

Through this MoU, the companies will produce a high-level technical and economic viability study and a proposed immediate 5G solution to the market

Airspan Networks, Padtec and Trópico have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer high-level technical and economic viability study and a proposed immediate 5G solutions to the Brazilian market, according to media reports. This agreement comes as a part of Padtec’s and Trópico’s strategy that primarily focuses on entering Brazil’s 5G market and the partnership is expected to deliver solutions in several frequency bands, including 700 MHz, 2.3 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 26 GHz.

Richard Vincent, Airspan’s Sales Director told the media, “As 5G is implemented and wireless data traffic carried by Airspan’s RAN platform grows exponentially on the edge of networking, the need for a scalable and flexible transport network becomes critical. This strategic partnership with companies such as Padtec and Trópico, which has the deep market knowledge and is a leader in their fields, together with Airspan’s innovation and expertise will help accelerate the introduction of 5G public and private networking solutions.”

The latest 5G spectrum auction in Brazil is expected to bring a lot of new investments to the country’s telecommunications infrastructure to support the next generation of high-band applications and services powered by 5G networks. The goal of these three companies is to come together and provide end-to-end hardware and software solutions to the key telecom operators in the market as well as the new players.

Airspan Networks is a US-based software and hardware supplier company for 5G networks and also specializes in end-to-end Open RAN solutions that provide interoperability with other vendors.
