Globe Telecom’s 5G coverage to span across Nordics and Asia

It aims to achieve #1stWorldNetwork of 5G coverage across the globe

Philippine-based Globe Telecom has signed partnerships with several telecommunication companies across Nordics and Asia to provide 5G coverage, according to the media. The aim is to achieve the goal of providing the widest 5G coverage across the globe and bring the #1stWorldNetwork to its customers.

Globe Telecom’s networks are to date live and already available in 16 countries with the help of partnering with 12 different telecom operators across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America. The 16 countries include Taiwan through Taiwan Mobile, Thailand with the help of AIS Thailand, Hong Kong through CSL, South Korea through SK Telecom, Singapore with Singtel and with Telia Company the telecom covers Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Estonia. Foreign customers that have a subscription to any of Globe Telecom’s 5G ready partners can access Globe’s 5G network when they are in the Philippines. Globe has plans to launch 5G in Sweden in partnership with Swisscom by the second quarter of 2021.

Coco Domingo, VP for Postpaid and International, Globe Telecom addressed the media and stated that despite the setback in both business and leisure travels caused by the global pandemic due to Covid-19, the company is firm in its vision for its customers to readily experience the power of 5G technology. Especially when the world is open and safe for travelling like the pre-pandemic period.

Globe Telecom recently stated that the signs of sustained recovery with the first quarter’s profit revenue have been increasing despite prolonged weather in its mobile business. It was dropped down by double-digit declines in voice and SMS.
