Zain launches fibre broadband services in Bahrain

The new service is being launched in partnership with Bahrain’s National Broadband Network

Kuwait-based mobile telecommunication company Zain has launched a new fibre broadband service in Bahrain.

Zain is launching the new services in partnership with Bahrain’s National Broadband Network. The new fibre packages offer speed of up to 500Mbps and low latency.

On selected fibre packages customers in Bahrain can enjoy a range of benefits provided in Zain including monthly data of up to 1.5TB, free installation and free one-month rental.

Recently, Hewlett Packard Enterprise also announced the launch of an as-a-service 5G portfolio in Saudi Arabia. The portfolio is designed to help telecommunication companies in the region deploy open 5g networks in the kingdom.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Zain signed an agreement last year to help the telecommunication giant deploy 5G services in the kingdom.

Issa Al-Khamees, managing director at Hewlett Packard Enterprise Saudi Arabia told the media, “The launch of the as-a-service 5G portfolio in Saudi Arabia marks a significant contribution by HPE in realising the digital transformation goals specified in the Saudi Vision 2030. “

“We signed an agreement with Zain last year to support Zain’s pioneering work to bring 5G connectivity to the Kingdom, and Zain is the only telecommunications company in the region that has deployed a full-scale 5G network in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This further reinforces HPE’s commitment to positively contribute to the Kingdom’s digital transformation journey.”

Last year, Zain deployed the region’s largest 5G network in Saudi Arabia. The first phase of Zain’s 5G rollout saw the deployment of 2000 towers across 20 cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This launch follows the first 5G launch in Kuwait which is ten-fold faster than the current 4G network.
