All you need to know about Seller, Meta’s new marketing app

By syncing with Facebook Marketplace, Seller will help its users to carry over their existing listings, messages, and selling history into the new app

Meta has unveiled Seller, a new app built for people who sell on Facebook Marketplace, giving the users dedicated tools, like AI-powered listing creation, a unified inbox, inventory management, and performance insights, in one place.

“Available on the App Store for American users 18 and older, Seller is purpose-built for the people who sell on Marketplace the most, giving them one place to run and grow their selling business,” Meta said.

“Facebook Marketplace turns ten this year. What started as people buying and selling in Facebook Groups has grown into a destination where 430 million items are listed each month globally, and for many has turned into a side hustle, a small business, real income. Today, those sellers get their own app. Seller is a dedicated space to manage listings, reach buyers, and grow your business — available now on the App Store for people 18-plus in the United States,” it added further, while launching the app on July 24.

By syncing with Facebook Marketplace, Seller will help its users to carry over their existing listings, messages, and selling history into the new app. Anything new they create in the app will automatically appear on Marketplace.

Among the key features, Seller Home will surface what needs the buyers’ attention. It will also take care of functions like items to ship, buyers to respond to, listings to reprice, apart from providing a snapshot of an individual’s sales performance.

Listing Creation will help the sellers to upload photos, following which Meta AI will fill in the details like title, description, price suggestion, and category, so that the products can be listed quickly on the platform. The bulk listing feature allows people to create multiple listings at once.

Listing Management, on the other hand, will view, edit, relist, and manage a seller’s full inventory from a single place.

Through “Unified Seller Inbox,” sellers will be able to find all their buyer messages organized in one place, threaded by item, so they can see every conversation tied to a specific listing.

Last but not the least; Performance Insights will help the sellers see what’s working with performance data like views, clicks, message threads, and sold listings, so that they can price competitively and make smarter decisions about their inventory.
