Port of Rotterdam and Corpus Christi signs MoU

The port of Rotterdam is also committed like the Port of Corpus Christi in terms of reducing carbon emissions and establish technologies to ramp up environmental protection

The Port of Rotterdam and The Port of Corpus Christi has signed a partnership to collaboratively enhance their global maritime operations.

These are some of the activities on which both the companies will focus: co-development of trade and commercial opportunities followed by bolstering information exchange and advancing the development and use of cutting-edge technologies, specifically related to environmental safeguard and navigational safety.

The Port of Corpus Christi has become the largest crude oil export hub in the US after the government lifted the ban on U.S. crude oil exports to global markets in 2015. The company is planning to boost operations with new developments and has committed to reducing carbon emissions.

The port of Rotterdam is also committed like the Port of Corpus Christi in terms of reducing carbon emissions and establish technologies to ramp up environmental protection. The company has used carbon capture and storage technologies through electric vehicles and patrols.

Sean Strawbridge, Chief Executive Officer for the Port of Corpus Christi, told the media, “We are honoured to partner with an exemplary port authority that shares our resiliency and commitment to growth by design. The Port of Rotterdam is recognized globally for its high-quality infrastructure, connectivity, and economic development. This alliance and the discourse it will generate will enhance the headway we have made toward safe and sustainable industrial facilitation of navigable commerce, and we are excited for the benefits this will bring to our Port customers and the communities we serve.”
