UK telecom major BT partners iOpt to roll out net zero tech products and services

BT will offer products and services to the local council across the UK which are seeking to adopt solutions related to smart building and environmental monitoring

UK telecom major BT has partnered iOpt, a Glasgow-based tech start-up, to launch products and services for the public sector customers who are looking to fulfil their net zero carbon emissions targets.

It is reported that BT will offer products and services to the local council across the UK which are seeking to adopt solutions related to smart building and environmental monitoring. The company’s solution has the potential to assist council by empowering local councils to take action to address the problems of the customers who face using IoT sensors.

Dane Ralston, managing director at iOpt, told the media, “We always look to work with value-add partners and BT is clearly one of the leaders in connectivity infrastructure which is critical to delivering the potential value we envisage in smart cities and local authorities. Since our introduction, through Plug and Play, it’s clear we have many shared values and despite the obvious size difference in the two organisations there are many synergies and benefits to both parties. As part of the transition to a low carbon business model, BT recently announced that its network, offices and shops worldwide were now powered by 100% renewable electricity, underpinning its commitment to become a net zero carbon emissions business by 2045.”

The company is committed towards the launch of the new product and is looking to become a better company every day. The pandemic has hampered businesses in the UK and compelled many to shut operations.
