HSBC Singapore appoints new commercial banking head Regina Lee

Ms Regina Lee has joined HSBC in 1997 and has an experience of more than 20 years in the corporate and commercial banking segment

HSBC Singapore has appointed a new head for its commercial banking unit as it looks to bolster its presence in Southeast Asia. Regina Lee will take over Alan Turner to serve the position and is expected to join the unit from March. Furthermore, Mr Alan Turner will work in the banks’ commercial unit in Canada.

Ms Regina Lee has joined HSBC in 1997 and has an experience of more than 20 years in the corporate and commercial banking segment. She recently served as the MD of corporate banking in Hong Kong and has led the coverage team for segments such as media, technology, telecommunications, commodities, retail and consumer.

Ms Regina Lee is expected to report the CEO of HSBC Singapore Tony Cripps and regional head of commercial banking for Asia-Pacific Stuart Tait.

Furthermore, MS Regina Lee is also an expertise in operational and risk management and has served as the CEO of commercial Banking in HSBC Hong Kong.

Mr Tony Cripps, told the media, “Singapore continues to be a strategic growth market for the group, offering significant opportunities from its increasing status as an international investment hub and springboard to South-east Asia. We are delighted to welcome Regina. Her extensive commercial banking experience, strong track record in driving business growth and operational know-how will enable us to further accelerate our strategy.”

Earlier, HSBC planned to shut down 82 branches in the UK as the pandemic walloped the banking sector globally. The company expects a positive 2021.
