Private equity firm EQT, Google Cloud forms partnership to roll out AI

EQT's portfolio companies will gain access to AI tools including the Gemini Enterprise Agent platform to build programs and cybersecurity services

Swedish private equity firm EQT has partnered with Alphabet’s Google Cloud to ‌help more than 300 companies in its portfolio accelerate AI adoption.

“Under the agreement, EQT’s portfolio companies, spanning sectors from enterprise software to healthcare, will gain access to AI tools including the Gemini Enterprise Agent platform to build programs, as well as cybersecurity services,” the companies announced.

“The companies will also get early access to selected Google Cloud AI products in the future,” EQT and Google added further.

As businesses race to integrate AI into their operations, the demand for engineers and consultants possessing the capability to deploy and customise the technology has surged. As per EQT and Google, partnerships between tech companies and financial ventures also help AI developers expand their customer base.

“Google engineers will work alongside EQT’s AI transformation team of about 35 people. ‌EQT and its portfolio companies will also have access to Google Cloud’s partner network, which includes more than 330,000 specialists from consultancies such as Accenture, Deloitte and KPMG,” the media note stated.

Google has also struck a similar AI deployment deal. In April 2026, it entered into tie-ups with software-focused investors Vista Equity Partners and Thoma Bravo.

The deals also give the software companies in EQT, Thoma Bravo and Vista’s portfolios the opportunity to sell their own products on Google Cloud’s online store for other businesses.

Other major private market firms, including Blackstone and TPG, are working separately with OpenAI and Anthropic to distribute their products to hundreds more organisations.

Bert Janssens, EQT’s co-head of private capital in Europe and North America, said the deal would help “management teams future-proof their businesses and be more competitive in an increasingly AI-driven economy”.

“By partnering with Google Cloud, we are expanding access to the technology, architecture, and expertise our companies need to accelerate AI adoption responsibly and at scale while helping management teams future-proof their businesses to be more adaptive, resilient, and competitive in an increasingly AI-driven economy,” he stated further.

Google Cloud chief product and business officer Karthik Narain said, “Agentic AI presents an important opportunity for businesses to operate more efficiently and ultimately to deliver better outcomes for their end customers. Already, EQT has been dedicated to helping their portfolio companies adapt to the AI era. This partnership will ensure these businesses will have access to the technology, expertise, and platform needed to accelerate their transformations, safely and securely.”
