Philips and du have recently signed a partnership that will accelerate the growth of healthcare in the UAE to be of value-based care at reduced costs, according to the media. This unique partnership between Philips, a global leader in health technology and du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC) will transform the healthcare sector of the UAE.
The firms have agreed to collaborate to help accelerate the critical, data-driven transformation of healthcare in the region in support of the Dubai Health Strategy 2021. The partnership will be collectively focusing on realising value-based care with the help of improving the experiences of patient and healthcare professionals. It will help to provide improved health outcomes at a lower cost of care across the sector.
The infrastructure from du and technological advancements from Philips will offer predictive analytics, data visualisation and reporting capabilities to healthcare professionals. The local health system will also have access to critical patient information, make vital life-saving decisions and prevent patient deterioration with the help of the general ward’s warning scores.
Farid Faraidooni, chief of New Business & Innovation Office, du, told the media that “Bringing people and businesses together to unlock economic and social transformation has always been at the heart of our operations.” He further added that the recent events of the spread of Covid-19 had accelerated the pace of momentum to realise the requirement of digital transformation in healthcare.
The potential of virtualised healthcare is extended beyond Covid-19 care. It has led to the rise of tele-ICU or eICU that lets off-site healthcare professionals interact with staff and patients to exchange information in real-time. Furthermore, the firms involved believe that the virtualisation of healthcare and the adoption of telehealth will play a vital role in treating patients in the future.
