Saudi Cargo signs deal with Cainiao Logistics

Five weekly flights will be operated from Hong Kong to Belgium as part of the agreement

Saudi Cargo has partnered with Cainiao Logistics, the logistics unit of Alibaba to bolster ecommerce operations between Asia and Europe. It is reported that five weekly flights will be operated from Hong Kong to Belgium as part of the agreement where Riyad will be the connection point.

According to Saudi Cargo, the flights will fulfil the ecommerce demand by bridging Asia and Europe. The ecommerce segment has become the hotbed for shopping across the globe.

Cainiao Logistics operates in more than 200 nations and is one of the most trusted and reliable logistics service providers for the majority of retailers and consumers across the world.

Saudi Cargo has unveiled various measures to weather the effects of the pandemic since the outbreak of the pandemic. The company continued the highly efficient logistic operations such as ramping up cargo flights to various destinations across Africa, Asia, Europe and the US. The company has abundant space and tonnage capacity to haul e-commerce goods on different routes as it has a fleet of seven freighter aircraft.

Cainiao’s chief strategist and general manager of Export Logistics, William Xiong, told the media, “We are happy to launch of collaboration with Saudi Cargo. Both our sellers and customers from China, Saudi Arabia and Europe will benefit from the new flights that will decrease the delivery time for their parcels. Expanding our logistics network into new regions will also help us in building an efficient global exports network. This new route will be one of the key elements to create seamless logistics and increase synergy between different regions.”
