Japan Airlines to resume domestic operations at Haneda Airport

Japan Airlines has announced that it will resume domestic operations at the Tokyo Haneda Airport from July 1st as demands picks up after restrictions were lifted on May 25.

The national carrier is also planning to fly more international flights in July to help support customers planning to return to Japan and for those planning to travel for business and personal reasons.

On its website, Japan Airlines said its international flying capacity will be down by 93 percent in July, compared to 96 percent in June. It plans to fly to a total of 60 international destinations in the month of July.

The carrier has also announced the launch of flight services between Bengaluru and Narita (Tokyo).

In a statement, Japan Airlines said, “Although entry restrictions continue to be implemented in various countries, the carrier has decided to operate scheduled flights to selected international destinations in the US, Europe, and Asia to help support customers planning to return to Japan or those choosing to travel abroad.”

 Last year’s report suggested that Japan Airlines is planning to acquire a stake in Malaysia Airlines.

Malaysian sovereign wealth fund Khazanah is the sole shareholder of Malaysia Airlines. The partnership between both airlines could result in more flights between the two countries.
