Project management is now a crucial enabler in Saudi Arabia’s quest for the lofty objectives outlined in “Vision 2030” economic diversification agenda, making sure that planning and execution go hand in hand to produce revolutionary results.
The importance of this discipline in bringing forward-thinking concepts to life was emphasised at a high-profile forum. Project management was highlighted as being crucial to achieving Vision 2030, a comprehensive framework that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman introduced in 2016. Reducing the Kingdom’s reliance on oil and diversifying the economy are the goals of the vision.
Over 5,000 projects totalling USD 5 trillion are currently underway, demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s significant advancements in changing its social and economic environments.
“Project management is the bridge where vision meets ambition, converting plans into tangible results,” Badr Burshaid, chairman of the Global Project Management Forum said, Arab News reported.
Additionally, he emphasised the Kingdom’s substantial investment in human capital, especially through programmes like the Human Capability Development Programme, which has positioned Saudi Arabia in the top 10 countries in the world for providing professionals with critical business skills.
The forum emphasised how crucial strategic execution is to promoting economic change.
The deputy minister of transport and logistics services for roads affairs, Badr Al-Dulami, referred to project management as the “pulse of transformation,” emphasising its function in promoting innovation and competition.
“This summit is not just an event but a platform for uniting expertise and driving collaboration,” Al-Dulami said.
The forum featured the presentation of excellence awards to innovative projects that best represent Vision 2030’s emphasis on sustainability, innovation, and significant results.
According to Al-Dulami, these honours are a call to pursue fresh creative possibilities while adhering to national goals.
Success for Saudi Arabia under “Vision 2030” is visible in several important areas.
The Kingdom has made great progress in enhancing its business climate, creating jobs, and moving forward with important projects like NEOM and the Red Sea Project, with 87% of initiatives either finished or on schedule.
