Turkey’s Horoz Bollore rolls out green logistics deliveries

The company has chosen the Ford hybrid transit cargo van for the development

Turkey’s logistics major Horoz Bollore Logistics rolls out green logistics deliveries as it aims to curb carbon emissions from its operations. The new delivery van will be used by the company’s national distributors across Turkey.

The new development by the company marks the gradual decarbonisation of the transport and logistics sector in Turkey.

Hakan Yaman, general manager of Horoz Bollore Logistics Turkey, told the media, “We all must be proud and happy to make even a tiny contribution for a greener environment in which our descendants will live in the future. We believe that all the stakeholders in the logistics industry must have the sense of responsibility for nature which we have mishandled so far. And now it’s time for reimbursement. We call all the actors to support environmental sustainability. No matter how big or small their contributions are but at least they must try before it is too late.”

The company has chosen the Ford hybrid transit cargo van for the development. The van is equipped with 2.0 litres Ford EcoBlue, 185 PS horsepower diesel engine and Euro 6.2 emission standards, which is quite good for the company’s greener logistics and supply chain solutions across Turkey.

The new van has replaced the old model which released a lot of CO2 emissions. The new van has the capability to cut down CO2 emissions between 20 percent to 30 percent depending upon the usage, with 0.74 grams / kilometres CO2. The van’s emissions level is below the European emissions standards.

Horoz Bollore Logistics expects to increase production for the hybrid vans and expand its presence across all the green logistics services across Turkey.

Major companies from sectors such as oil and gas, automobile and many others have committed to becoming carbon neutral in the future.
